MY TEACHING
How can I improve student attention and learning outcomes?
PHILOSOPHY
I may teach at a Research I University, but I am not a researcher.
Teaching is my second career, following a first career working in communication-related roles in the nonprofit sector.
When I transitioned to higher education, I intuitively developed a
teaching philosophy that integrated the entrepreneurial spirit I had
developed while working to advance nonprofit missions using limited resources.
As an educator, I believe that my teaching should follow three tenets
related to technology:
1. Have practical application outside the classroom
2. Meet students where they are
3. Develop critical thinking skills
To learn more about how my previous career as a leader in the
nonprofit sector informed this philosophy, please watch the
